LS Land Clearing is committed to quality work and customer satisfaction. Here’s a look at some before and after photos for jobs large and small. We’ve added some notes to help you get a feel for different approaches to land clearing.
Tractor bushhogging works great for slightly overgrown well-worked pasture. When things get steeper and the brush and saplings are thicker we’ll usually recommend bush hogging with a Compact Track Loader machine. If the land has been let go longer with taller thicker trees, its time to bring in the big guns and break out the powerful forestry mulching attachment.
Before Bush Hogging
This overgrown cow pasture is steep territory with barb wire fencing and a dirt road cut in at the top. But you can’t see that! This area had not been cleared for over 18 months.
After Bush Hogging
This photo was taken a few weeks after bush hogging was complete standing a dozen yards forward into where all that brush was. Due to how thick it was, and the steepness of the mountain land, we used the extreme duty bushhog on a high flow CAT track machine for this job. L&S staff also cleared the fence lines.
Before Forestry Mulching
Here is some land that is brushy with young trees perhaps 15 years old that needed to be cleared for access to a new homesite.
Mulching Machine in Action
This Compact Track Loader is in “over its head” but its up for the job. Its a compact machine but a real heavyweight at over 10,000 pounds and plenty of horsepower and hydraulics to run the mulcher attachment.
After Mulching is Complete
And here’s that same patch cleared out and mulched down. Once advantage of mulching over bulldozing is that you leave a nice thick layer of wood chips to help prevent erosion.
Weed Trees and Brush Before Mulching
Over the years its easy for the forest to creep into the fields with an unsightly mix of sumac, brush, briars and weed trees. Some times just tractor bushhogging literally won’t cut it. Time to fight back with the mulcher!

The forestry mulching attachment has a large drum with carbide teeth that literally shred the trees and brush as the machine relentlessly advances.

The mulching machine has reclaimed several acres of overgrown pasture and left a thick bedding of mulched material, while nimbly avoiding select mature desireable trees.
